Rebecca Ward, Chairman of the Board, CEO
Rebecca Ward brings to Tealeaf a wealth of experience in managing and growing technology businesses. She joins Tealeaf after most recently serving as entrepreneur in residence at Foundation Capital. Previously, Rebecca served as group president of engineering, marketing, and product development at Digex. Revenues grew to $214 million during her tenure. Prior to joining Digex, Rebecca worked for BBN/GTE Internetworking, where she held the position of vice president of product management and engineering. Rebecca began her career with Xerox in 1982 in a technical position and then moved into the sales organization, before joining BBN Systems and Technologies in 1991.
Rebecca holds a bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology from Northeastern University, a Master of Computer Science from Boston University, and is a graduate of the MIT Sloan School of Management Executive Business Management Program.
Robert Wenig, Founder, CTO, Member of Board
Robert Wenig founded Tealeaf Technology with a vision of revolutionizing insight into the interplay between Web applications and end users. He is responsible for driving the technology vision of the company. Robert first conceived the vision for Tealeaf within SAP Labs, where he served as Director of Advanced Technology, reporting directly to SAP Chairman, Hasso Plattner. Realizing that the value could reach far beyond the SAP market, Robert initiated and achieved the first-ever SAP spin-off. While developing Tealeaf's core technology, Robert won two Smithsonian Awards for Innovation.
Well known and highly regarded among the SAP development community, Robert created and executed SAP's Internet strategy and delivered SAP Employee Self Service (ESS), generating over three million Internet users for SAP. He also created the SAP TechEd Conference - the largest non-Microsoft developer conference. Prior to SAP, Robert was Director of Development at AutoDesk, where he created and sustained the top three revenue products, AutoCAD 386, AutoCAD for Windows, and AutoCAD LT. Robert began his career as a Developer at Wang, where he was awarded patents for image storage algorithms. Robert holds a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Case Western Reserve University and an Executive MBA from the University of San Francisco McLaren Graduate School of Management. Robert maintains the position of Fellow at SAP.
Ira Pollack, Vice President, World Wide Sales
Ira joined Tealeaf in June 2008 and brings over 18 years of enterprise software sales experience to Tealeaf. Most recently, Ira served as Senior Vice President of World Wide Sales for the Business Interaction Division of BEA Systems. Ira joined BEA from Plumtree Software (the company was acquired by BEA in October 2005), where he served as Vice President of World Wide Sales. After leading the integration efforts for both Plumtree and Fuego Software sales organizations into BEA, Ira guided growth of BEA’s license revenue from approximately $30M in 2005 to $80M by 2008. Ira also served as Vice President of North American Sales for Consumer Industrial Markets and, prior to that VP of Sales for North America for High Tech, at BearingPoint Consulting for 8 years. Ira holds an MBA from San Francisco State and a BA from University of California, Santa Barbara.
Geoff Galat, Vice President, World Wide Marketing
Geoff is responsible for overseeing marketing and product management at Tealeaf. Geoff has more than twenty years of experience in technology marketing, Prior to Tealeaf, Geoff served as Vice President of Marketing & Product Management at Tumbleweed Communications, evangelizing the use of the Internet as a channel for secure messaging & communications. Prior to Tumbleweed, Geoff was Vice President of Marketing at Luminate Corporation. In that role, he was a key member of the management team that introduced the concept of the Management Service Provider for Web-based application management. Geoff also served six years at Mercury Interactive in a variety of marketing management roles, culminating as Vice President of Corporate Marketing, and was instrumental in Mercury Interactive developing brand awareness and establishing the markets for application testing and application performance management. Geoff also spent seven years with pioneering laptop computer company GRiD Systems Corporation where he served in a range of marketing and marketing management roles.
John Dawes, Vice President, Product Marketing, Management and Strategy
John Dawes brings over twenty years experience in defining and delivering enterprise software products. Prior to Tealeaf, John was VP of Product Management at Omniva Policy Systems, where he was responsible for product management, marketing and business development. Previously, John defined, delivered and managed a large automotive e-commerce site as the VP of Product Management and Marketing at Greenlight (a joint venture of Amazon.com and some of the nation's largest car dealership networks), later acquired by CarsDirect.com. John also spent four years at Netscape Communications, where he was responsible for product management of Netscape's web and application server product line which powered some of the largest e-commerce sites in the world. John also was one of the original product managers at Adobe for the Acrobat product, helping launch its initial release. John has also worked at Microsoft and a number of software startups. He holds a bachelor's degree from Dartmouth and a Masters in Computer Science from Stanford University.
Alan "Sparky" Heitmann, Vice President, Operations
Sparky brings to Tealeaf more than 20 years of business and management experience in creating and growing successful organizations. Prior to Tealeaf, Sparky was VP of Client Management for Ask Jeeves' Business Solutions, where he was responsible for 80 global corporate clients and built a client relations organization that generated $24 million in revenue. Before joining Ask Jeeves, Sparky was the Director of Consumer Relations at Iomega Corporation, where he managed a $35 million business unit and 100 employees. Sparky also has nine years of experience at Arthur Anderson Business Consulting, where he helped build the San Francisco and Charlotte consulting practices and managed large-scale client consulting engagements for clients such as Amdahl, Applied Materials, Cisco Systems, Guilford Mills, Iomega, Sara Lee, and Sun Microsystems. He holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Michael Mayne, CFO
Michael Mayne has more than twenty years of financial management experience, with a strong track record in maximizing stockholder value in technology companies. For the past several years his expertise has been in assisting high-tech start-up and early-stage companies create effective organization structures and systems. Michael is a veteran in preparing offering memoranda and business plans. As CFO and Senior Vice President of Finance for such companies as Island Graphics Corporation, peers recognize Michael for his integrity and ability to communicate with excellent credibility at all levels. Michael holds a B.A. from Middlebury College.
Mark Neumann, Vice President, Engineering
Mark oversees the software programming, testing, and 3rd level support for the Tealeaf product using his 25+ years of experience in large distributed systems development. As VP of Product Development for Cable and Wireless, he directed a multimillion-dollar expansion and platform migration. As VP of Engineering at Excite/@Home, he developed and managed the integration of the first broadband portal and content distribution system for 19 regional data centers and hundreds of proxy servers. This included extensive use of Dynamic HTML and Javascript years before AJAX become a technical buzz word. Mark’s experience with the online world preceded the popular use of the Internet when he managed product development for Apple's eWorld Online Service. His career began in Aerospace and Defense developing large, distributed, real-time systems for NASA, the FAA, and various three-letter government agencies. Mark holds an MBA from Denver University and a BS in Engineering from Mississippi State University.
Andrew Hill, Vice President & General Counsel
Andy brings over fifteen years' experience working as in-house counsel for technology companies in Silicon Valley, specializing in technology licensing, commercial transactions and securities compliance. Andy joined TeaLeaf from Calient Networks, where he was VP, General Counsel and Secretary and part of the management team that completed a recapitalization and re-start of the optical networking company. Previously, Andy led the legal and contracts departments at Legato Systems (now part of EMC) and helped expand the enterprise software company through numerous acquisitions. Andy also spent three years at Red Brick Systems, a data warehousing company, which he helped through a successful IPO. Before going in-house, Andy practiced corporate law at Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison, concentrating on venture capital financing for high-tech and emerging growth companies. He holds a bachelor's degree from Brown University and a J.D. and M.B.A. from The University of Pennsylvania Law School and The Wharton School.
