The Schwan Food Company Deploys Tealeaf Technology
Leader in Web Application Management Delivers Value To Schwan Web Customers
San Francisco, CA, October 28, 2003 - Tealeaf Technology, the leader in application availability as measured by the real user, today welcomed The Schwan Food Company its rapidly increasing list of customers. Tealeaf's Web application management solution is being used to manage the real availability of Web applications throughout Schwan's Web-based operations. With recognizable brands such as Tony's, Red Baron, and Freschetta, the company is one of the leading frozen-pizza maker in the United States. Through its fleet of home-delivery trucks, Schwan also delivers casseroles, ice cream, and frozen foods to homes in the continental United States.
With Tealeaf in place, the IT group at Schwan is able to significantly increase customer service by resolving Web application issues faster. Tealeaf's product allows Web support staff to replay user sessions exactly as they occurred, to better understand what a user did just prior to encountering an error.
"Every customer is different, which means that our Web apps are different for each customer. Unfortunately, this makes Web application troubleshooting more difficult," according to Dave Deines, Systems Development Manager at Schwan. "Prior to having Tealeaf in place, Web application triage was a manual process. It involved reviewing disparate log files trying to determine if a problem really existed; finding out when it began, and who else was affected; trying to recreate the problem; reviewing performance measurements and application changes that could have caused the problem. In some cases, we simply had to bite the bullet and spend our limited IT time actually interviewing some of those customers."
The Schwan Food Company is a privately-held manufacturer and marketer of fine frozen foods through home delivery, retail grocery and foodservice channels. Headquartered in Marshall, Minn., Schwan's production and distribution activities in the United States and Europe employ 24,000 people.
"We are excited to be working with Schwan," said Frank Vaculin, President and CEO of Tealeaf. "Tealeaf's software will only improve Schwan's continued commitment to customer service."
